Parents “Forget” Baby in Stroller Parking While Riding Attraction

It seems lost and found at the Walt Disney World Resort doesn’t just contain sunglasses, bags, and Apple watches.

We’ve seen Disney Guests forget Park Pass reservations, lose their minds over Disney Genie, and even get frustrated when strollers are moved in the Parks, but never have we heard of babies being left behind.

Now, a former Cast Member has revealed a crazy stroller parking story from his time working at Walt Disney World that raises many questions about Disney Guest priorities.

A former EPCOT Cast Member (@dappermanatee) shared a video on TikTok this week revealing a wild story from his time working at Walt Disney World.

Real name Thomas, the former Cast Member explains that sometimes he would use a different nametag on his so-called “Mitch days” – whenever he was “done peopling for a while.” Apparently, he was working at The Seas with Nemo & Friends in EPCOT on a “Mitch day” when, adjusting the strollers in stroller parking to make room, he realized one stroller was slightly heavier than the rest.

Why? “Because it held a baby!” he reveals.

Yes, you read that correctly. Disney Guests at the Seas with Nemo & Friends attraction had left their baby in a stroller!

The ex-Cast Member goes on to explain that “Mitch is moving strollers to get them all to fit in the space. As he slides strollers over, he notices one is awfully heavy. Now, it’s never a good sign when you find a stroller that heavy. Sometimes it’s bags […], but this was a baby!”

The former Cast Member further reveals that “that sounds insane, right? Every Cast Member has seen it once. Some have seen it a bunch.” The fact that many Cast Members have seen this occurrence more than once is a worrying detail, especially when one considers the hot and humid Florida weather and safety concerns of our era.

Leaving your baby in the stroller parking area while riding an attraction at the EPCOT theme park is never allowed, encouraged, or advised – and is an action that could lead to unfortunate consequences.

“People are just plain terrible,” @dappermanatee comments. According to the former Disney Park employee, it seems to happen at The Seas with Nemo & Friends more than in other places, probably because strollers are not allowed in the queue area.

In this particular circumstance, the ending of the story is happy. The TikTok user explains that “luckily, before we had to call anybody, the parents ran back, saying they had ‘forgotten him.'” Many parents would be aghast to hear that Disney Guests had “forgotten” their young child while riding an attraction, but @dappermanatee notes the possible reason for people leaving children behind is that in Europe, it’s normal to leave a baby in a stroller outside of a coffee shop.

We sincerely hope that Cast Members do not see this incident happen much more in the future at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and that parents remember their children when walking into an attraction.
