Perhaps it’s the future of Disney World lines, but Cosmic Rewind is launching their virtual queue (and the ride) on May 27 and we can only assume it’s going to be interesting.

Disney Parks announced details that all park-goers need to know if they will be at EPCOT for the launch of Guardian’s of the Galaxy, Cosmic Rewind on May 27, 2022.

First of all, it’s incredibly exciting that Cosmic Rewind is finally here and ready for launch. There has been a lot of hype and promotion surrounding this new ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ ride located at EPCOT, Walt Disney World. It’s also incredibly exciting (and maybe nerve-wracking?) that there will be no standby queue whatsoever for this ride.

“It’s almost time for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind to launch into EPCOT on May 27! Prep for your intergalactic chase through space and time, including how to get your attraction photos and details to be on the lookout for.”

One of the most important details of this ride launch on the 27 of May, is how to ride it. Since there is no standby line option, there will be two ways to secure your turn on this attraction. You can purchase an individual lightning lane pass for this ride, or you can wait in the virtual queue.

The most widely available option will be to stand in the virtual queue so here’s how you do it.

First and foremost you must have the My Disney Experience app. Log on to this app promptly at 7:00 a.m. on the day you will be entering the park with your valid ticket and Park reservation, and request access to the Cosmic Rewind Virtual Queue. From here you will be able to check for an available boarding group and visit the ride at this time. You do not need to be inside the Park to request at the 7 a.m. queue.

This is expected to fill up ASAP, so another queuing opportunity will be made available at 1:00 p.m. following the same process. However, you must be physically inside EPCOT to request to ride for the second queuing opportunity.

Due to high demand, Guests will only be able to ride Cosmic Rewind once per day (for now).

The major upside to virtual queuing is you can enjoy other attractions and the rest of the park and plan your day around your boarding time. We can’t wait to see how this works out and if this is the future of long Walt Disney World lines.

Follow these steps and be sure to enjoy your flight with Star-Lord, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, and other Guardians of the Galaxy characters from the MCU!
