Spring has arrived, Disney fans! As we prepare to welcome April at Walt Disney World Resort, Disney is revealing special Earth Day celebrations we are looking forward to.
April is going to be a busy month at Walt Disney World Parks. With Guests arriving for Easter and Spring break vacations, Disney is dishing out new Spring food and experiences across their Parks.
Over at Magic Kingdom Park, the Festival of Fantasy Parade is back! At EPCOT, Guests may be met with construction walls still, but the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival adds a perfect touch of beauty. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests are eagerly awaiting the return of Fantasmic! which Disney is still quiet on when it may make a comeback this year.
Moving along to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, Guests are ready to see the reopening of Expedition Everest after its lengthy refurbishment. While some refurbishments continue through April, there will still be plenty to see and do in the Disney Parks!
Now, Disney has announced a week-long celebration in honor of Earth Day! At Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park, Guests are invited to attend Earth Day festivities with a valid Park ticket. Disney shares:
“Come join in the fun of our annual Earth Day Celebration, as the Park spends not just the day but an entire week honoring our planet and how we can all come together to create a healthier home for people and wildlife. That’s right, a whole week – April 18-24 – connecting with the magic of nature through family-friendly experiences and special offerings.”
First up, plan to head over to the Conservation Station in the Park where you can work your magic by drawing! A Disney artist will be available with The Animation Experience to help Guests draw Disney characters by using real animals for inspiration.
Don’t forget to discover more about the Disney Conservation Fund which allows Disney to work with animals and the environment around the globe to protect and better understand what makes Earth so unique and beautiful.
Ready to become a Wilderness Explorer? For a limited time, Disney will have a special Wilderness Explorer activity that rewards Guests with an Earth Day Nature badge.
And OH. MY. GOODNESS! How cute is this Magic Shot? Guests will have an opportunity to experience a special Wall-E and Eve photo frame from Disney and Pixar’s animated feature, Wall-E (2008). Simply locate a Disney PhotoPass photographer and get ready to smile!
Most intriguing is that Disney announced that Guests will “want to make tracks to Discovery Island where you can spot a special Disney Character Cruise on Discovery River.” We’ve enjoyed seeing characters and musicians cruise the waterways at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and now we get to look forward to another “Disney Character Cruise”.
If you’re an avid Disney pin trading fan, don’t miss out on the limited-edition Earth Day 2022 trading pin to commemorate the special celebration. Along with the pin, Disney will also have other Earth Day merchandise along with specialty food and beverage items throughout the Disney Park.
Mark your calendar for the perfect time to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom during its Earth Week Celebration beginning April 18 through April 24, 2022. The stunning Park will also celebrate its 24th Anniversary on Earth Day, April 22, 2022.
