Our Hopes for 2022 In Walt Disney World

As 2021 wraps up quickly, we are looking forward to what 2022 will bring to Walt Disney World. Many of us take this time to think about our hopes for the upcoming year, and we thought it would be fun to do the same for Walt Disney World.

Here are our hopes for 2022 in Walt Disney World. Some we have been told should happen, while others are just things we hope for moving forward.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind

Our first hope for 2022 revolves around the newest Theme Park ride announcements, which is that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will open to Guests in the summer of 2022.

Our hope for this brand new coaster is that it hits the opening goal without any issues. There is a new ride system, including a reverse launch. Cosmic Rewind is being called an onmicoaster, meaning that it keeps Guests facing the action throughout the whole ride experience.

Since the technology is brand new, we worry that delays could happen.

As we saw with the opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, new technology and advanced experiences can be fantastic, but they can also come with some frustrations.

We hope that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opens without any major hiccups in 2022.

Tron Lightcycle Power Run

Along the same lines, we hope that 2022 will bring us the opening of Tron in the Magic Kingdom. We have been watching the progess of this coaster for the last few years, and we hope that it will finally open in 2022.

It looks like progress is going well, but since we haven’t been given an opening date yet we aren’t sure that we will see Tron until 2023.

We are hopeful that this new thrill ride will open in 2022 as it will bring a lot of excitement to the Magic Kingdom.

Walt Disney World Railroad

Another hope we have for 2022 when it comes to Walt Disney World is that we will see the return of the Walt Disney World Railroad.

This iconic ride has been closed in Magic Kingdom since 2018, due to the construction of Tron. We are hopeful that as Tron nears completion, we will see the railroad return as well.

We love being able to take the train around the Magic Kingdom and to see the different lands. We truly hope we will be able to do so once again in 2022.

More Entertainment Returns

An extremely important and magical part of a Walt Disney World vacation is the entertainment. Although we are slowly getting some live entertainment back, we are hopeful that 2022 will see the return of most live entertainment.

We have been told that Finding Nemo: The Musical will return in a new form to Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The updated show will focus on Dory and be called Finding Nemo:  The Big Blue and Beyond.

We are hopeful that this new show will open in 2022 and will be a wonderful addition to the Park.

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we saw the return of Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! this month, and we are hopeful that Fantasmic will return in 2022 as well.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been missing a nighttime spectacular, and we are hopeful that Fantasmic will be back in 2022 as announced.

Over in Magic Kingdom, it has been released that both the Festival of Fantasy Parade and Mickey’s Friendship Faire (with a 50th celebration twist) will return in 2022.

We are hopeful to soon see these two experiences return to the Magic Kingdom as there is something special about an afternoon parade and stage shows that make the magic happen.

More Dining

We have been impressed with the new dining that opened in 2021, and we hope this trend continues into 2022.

Steakhouse 71, Space 220 Restaurant, and Le Crêperie de Paris are all new, fantastic dining options in Walt Disney World. From outstanding food and drink selections to fun theming, these are top notch dining options.

We hope that as we head into 2022, Walt Disney World will continue to add and update dining throughout the Theme Parks and Resorts.

We look forward to seeing the new sit-down restaurant open in Toy Story Land, as well as the new quick-service option in EPCOT.

Having a variety of new dining options makes for a great vacation, and we hope 2022 will offer more.

Magic

Our biggest hope for 2022 when it comes to Walt Disney World is that it continues to make the magic.

It has been a tough couple of years, and we are thankful that Walt Disney World continues to work extremely hard to create magic for Guests.

We know it probably has not been easy to do, but we are grateful that Cast Members continue to work hard each and every day to make the magic happen throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

We hope that we continue to see this in 2022, as it is what makes a vacation to Walt Disney World special, and it is why we continue to go back over and over again.

As we look to 2022, we have a lot of hopes for Walt Disney World. From new rides and dining to seeing entertainment return, we hope that each of these areas are able to grow in 2022.
