Holiday Celebrations Are Ready

We assume that if you planned a vacation to Walt Disney World in December, you want to enjoy some of the holiday magic.

All four Theme Parks, Disney Springs, and the Disney Resorts are in full holiday mode, and you don’t want to miss out.

Each of the four Theme Parks is decorated for the holiday season. We love the throwback decorations in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as the well themed decorations throughout Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Don’t forget to look for holiday treats as you visit each Theme Park. You will find delicious options everywhere you go.

Schedule some time into your vacation to see some of the amazing decorations throughout the Disney Resorts.

Over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, the beautiful gingerbread house is up, it’s a Disney holiday tradition.

The gingerbread carousel is found at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, and it was just revealed that there is a new special gingerbread giraffe at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Each Resort has beautiful trees but specifically, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a sight to see during the holiday season.

The holiday magic is present throughout the Walt Disney World Resort hotels.

Club Level Accommodations Return

If you are staying at a Disney Resort that used to offer Club Level rooms, check to see if they are back.

Club Level gives Guests who reserve these specific accommodations access to the lounge that provides food and drinks throughout the day.

We have seen Club Level return at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s BoardWalk Resort, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

It was announced that the Club Level rooms will be coming to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge as well as Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

This is a great way to add some additional magic to your trip as well as plan for snacks throughout the day.

Make Sure You Have Your Tickets

If you plan to visit Walt Disney World in December, be aware that some days Theme Park tickets are not available for purchase anymore.

Disney Park Pass reservations are also booked up for these specific dates.

Keep a look out as we noticed that some dates have opened back up, so snag those tickets and Disney Park Passes ASAP.

When visiting in December, take time to visit the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.

This holiday celebration in EPCOT has a variety of different festivities that Guests can enjoy while in the Park.

Check out the Holiday Kitchens that bring culinary favorites from around the world to EPCOT.

Try out the Holiday Cookie Stroll or Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition for fun activities around World Showcase.

Schedule an evening to see the Candlelight Processional. It’s a truly magical experience that retells the traditional Christmas story.

Finally, don’t miss the holiday storytellers throughout the World Showcase. These amazing storytellers share the holiday traditions from different countries.

50th Anniversary Celebration Continues

With all the holiday excitement taking place during December, don’t forget the 50th Anniversary Celebration is also going on during this month. Take time to celebrate by checking out the new firework shows at both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, try some new snacks, and experience a new ride or restaurant.

Even though the holiday season has transformed the Parks right now, the celebration continues for the 50th Anniversary.

Updates to Experiences Throughout the Parks

We have seen that a few rides and dining experiences have been adjusted throughout the last month, so if you are heading to Walt Disney World in December, make sure you are aware of these adjustments.

Kali River Rapids is currently closed for its annual refurbishment in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Over in Magic Kingdom, Jingle Cruise has taken over Jungle Cruise with a fun holiday overlay. Also in Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s PhilharMagic has a new scene from ‘Coco’.

The opportunities to meet characters in person (now called character sightings) are also slowly coming back in the Parks, which we are so excited about. Know that these interactions are adjusted from what they originally have been in the past.

Even though we still can’t hug Mickey, we are thrilled we can have some one-on-one time with him once again.

December is a magical and festive time to visit Walt Disney World. We hope that we have helped provide you with some great ideas on how you can enjoy this special time of year.

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
