We Can’t Wait to See This on Our Next Walt Disney World Trip!

From Mickey Mouse to the majestic Tree of Life to Main Street, U.S.A., there are many things you simply can’t see anywhere else but Walt Disney World.

It would be impossible to list all the things we’ve missed seeing at WDW, but here are a few that top our list of things we can’t wait to see again on our next Walt Disney World vacation. What are you most pining to see at the most magical place on Earth?

Cinderella Castle

Beloved worldwide, there’s perhaps no symbol more strongly tied to Walt Disney World than Cinderella Castle.  It almost goes without saying that this is what we most look forward to seeing the next time we visit WDW!

In fact, we like to visit Disney’s Magic Kingdom theme park as soon as we arrive in Orlando because our WDW vacation doesn’t really begin until we’ve gazed once more upon Cinderella Castle.

Whether you’re admiring the stunning mosaic murals inside the Castle, dining at the incomparable Cinderella’s Royal Table, or simply snapping a selfie to share on Instagram, seeing Cinderella Castle again is a signal that the magic has begun!

Palm Trees

For Guests who live in the southern part of the continent, seeing palm trees at Walt Disney World is probably no big deal.

It’s quite a novelty for those of us who live further north, however! I had never seen a palm tree before my first trip to WDW, and they remain a cause for excitement to this day. I can’t wait to see these tropical treasures gently swaying in the breeze once more.

Characters

A lot has changed at Walt Disney World since the pandemic began, but we’re thrilled that characters have returned! Character dining and character meet and greets have been necessarily modified to keep Cast Members and Guests safe, but you’ll still be able to see your favorite Disney characters in the parks and at select restaurants, if from a bit of a distance!

While we’re excited to see any and all Disney characters again, we can’t wait to be reunited with Mickey Mouse in particular. I predict totally embarrassing happy dances and more than a few tears.

Nighttime Spectaculars

If you’ve never seen fireworks at Walt Disney World, you really haven’t seen fireworks at all. It’s been far too long since we’ve been treated to the unparalleled nighttime spectaculars at Walt Disney World, and we can’t wait!

Guests at Walt Disney World can enjoy Disney Enchantment at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park, and Harmonious at Disney’s EPCOT Park – both nighttime spectaculars celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50thanniversary.

Pools

We’ve traveled the world, but we’ve never stayed anywhere with pool complexes as consistently fabulous as those at Disney Resort Hotels.

Stormalong Bay, shared by Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts, is the undisputed jewel in the WDW pool complex crown. But even if you’re not lucky enough to enjoy this mini-water park, your own Disney Resort boasts a feature pool (and a quiet pool or two) that you won’t want to leave!

We can’t wait to spend a Resort day in the Orlando sun, chilling in and around the pool.

Merchandise

We’ve already started compiling a list of must-have memorabilia to purchase on our next Walt Disney World vacation.  From Disney parks to Disney Resorts to Disney Springs, there’s a world of merchandise that’s come out since our last vacation, and we can’t wait to see it all!

There’s even been talk of bringing an empty suitcase to fit all that merchandise in. (Note to self: set a budget for WDW souvenir shopping, pronto.)

Monorail

It’s hard to think of a public transportation system enjoying cult status – outside of WDW, that is.

The Walt Disney World Monorail System is so iconic that it – and even its safety announcements – are commonly featured on WDW apparel and other merchandise.

Even when we don’t stay at a Monorail Resort, we make a point of hopping on Disney’s “highway in the sky”! We can’t wait to see this classic mode of transportation on our next trip.

Parades

Since the Parks reopened, Disney Guests have been treated to a modified version of pre-pandemic parades, called Character Cavalcades.

They’re short and sweet, passing in less than a minute, but they allow you to see your favorite Disney characters in small groups. And they happen constantly during the day, which is great news if you’ve just missed one!

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World on or after March 9, 2022, you’ll be able to see the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade once again at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Park.

As much as we appreciate the Character Cavalcades, we’re beyond excited to see a true parade return to WDW, complete with Maleficent the fire-breathing Dragon.

Matching Tees

I would never think of going anywhere with my family wearing matching tees – except for Walt Disney World, of course!

From matching character t-shirts to tees that have been custom-made to commemorate a group celebration at Walt Disney World, matching apparel is not only acceptable at WDW, but it’s also encouraged!

While we may not be sporting identical, custom-made tees ourselves on our next WDW vacation, we can’t wait to see all the loved ones expressing their Disney passion through matching clothing.

Bottom Line

Whether it’s a WDW Park icon, a favorite attraction or restaurant, or perhaps something that’s at long last returning to Walt Disney World, every Guest has a special list of things they can’t wait to see on their next trip.

What items would top your list of things you’re excited to see at WDW?

About Stacy Milford

Stacy has lived in 4 countries on 3 continents, and travels whenever humanly possible. Passionate about music theatre, dessert, and adventure in the great wide somewhere, she visits Walt Disney World every year, usually during Halloween! Stacy currently divides her time between writing and teaching English as a second language to children in China, and is pretty sure growing up is over-rated.
