Headed to Walt Disney World Resort in the near future? There are a few key times Disney will tell you to be aware of, but you should also add 7:12 am to your list of alarms.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT is officially open! Guest are flocking to the Disney Park to enjoy the one-of-a-kind indoor roller coaster that is as impressive as we all hoped it would be. The new ride however is available via individual Lightning Lane attraction purchase and/or a virtual queue only. There is currently no standby line to wait for Cosmic Rewind.

Virtual Queue – 7:00 am
So, there are of course a couple of times to be aware of. First, let’s talk about Virtual Queue. Using the My Disney Experience App, Guests with a valid Park Pass Reservation will have a chance to snag a virtual queue from outside of the Park at 7:00 am.
Virtual Queue – 1:00 pm
If you don’t get lucky with getting a virtual queue at 7:00 am, Guests within EPCOT will have another chance at 1:00 pm.
Virtual Queue – 6:00 pm
An additional opportunity to request to join the virtual queue will be available at 6:00 pm on select dates during extended evening theme park hours, a benefit for registered Guests staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort, Disney Deluxe Villa Resort, or other select hotels. Guests with this benefit do not need to be in EPCOT to request to join at that time but instead can Park Hop to EPCOT after the 6:00 pm selection time.

Lightning Lane – 7:00 am
If the complimentary Virtual Queue doesn’t work out for you and your party, or if your party wants to ride Cosmic Rewind twice, Guests staying at a Disney Resort Hotel and other select hotels can first purchase an individual a la carte Lightning Lane reservation beginning at 7:00 am. These Lightning Lane passes run out within minutes and currently cost Guests between $14 – $17 per person to ride.
Lightning Lane – 8:30 am (OR when EPCOT officially opens)
Not one of the Resort Guests mentioned for the 7:00 am Lightning Lane above? All other Guests can make their first Lightning Lane access purchase when the Park opens.
Lightning Lane – 7:12 am
So, why have we added 7:12 am to this list of times Guests should know? Well, 7:12 am is the purchase timeout for Guests that have received an error or decided not to purchase an individual Lightning Lane reservation.
@ScottGustin took to social media to note, “Something to keep in mind if you’re trying for Cosmic Rewind Individual Lightning Lane this weekend: If you fail at 7 am, keep trying until at least 7:12 am. 7:12 am is the purchase timeout for people who changed their mind or received an error during checkout.”

That’s right – if you don’t get lucky enough to snag a Lightning Lane at 7:00 am as a Disney Resort Guest, try again at 7:12 am in an attempt to enjoy the Lightning Lane entrance for the attraction.
7:12 am isn’t only important to know for EPCOT’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but it is also important to know for other individual Lightning Lane attractions including Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park.
