Why Walt Disney World Should Definitely Be The Next Destination For Your Girls Trip

Walt Disney World is often viewed as a family destination; a vacation that the young, and young-at-heart, can enjoy together. But with so much to offer to Guests of all ages, you shouldn’t feel that you can only travel to Lake Buena Vista with the kids.

So next time you’re planning a vacation with the girls, why not make the Walt Disney World Resort your destination. Let’s just say we’ve tried and tested it, and you’re in for the most magical Disney experience. Here’s why you should take a Disney vacation with your girls!

Outfit Planning

If you’re anything like us here at Disney Tips, planning outfits is part of every Disney trip. Not only does it help to organize your packing, but also makes it less likely that you will pack too many clothes, leaving you with less room for souvenirs from your trip.

A girls’ Disney vacation is a great time to plan for matching outfits. Find your favorite matching shirts to wear in and around Walt Disney World. Matching hoodies or sweaters are also a great thing to buy, allowing you to match on those evenings when it’s a little cooler.

If you decide not to match, coordinate your outfits instead. Decide on a theme or color to inspire your clothing choices each day. Animal print could be the inspiration for your day in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. If you’re spending an evening at a Disney Resort, coordinate by wearing dresses and mouse ears. It can be fun to dress up a little in Walt Disney World! This is especially true if you are planning on dining in a Signature Disney Restaurant, such as California Grill in Disney’s Contemporary Resort.

Share accessories

Are you ever fully dressed in the Walt Disney World Resort without a pair of Mickey or Minnie mouse ears to compliment your outfit? Here at Disney Tips, we don’t think so! If you’re anything like us though, you have quite the collection of mouse ears, resulting in you having to leave some at home!

Well, a trip with the girls is a great way to share mouse ears, and will mean you can take them all to show them off in and around the Disney Parks! Why not share other accessories too, such as Disney Loungefly bags, or Dooney & Bourke bags?

Time for cocktails

There are so many great bars to sip on cocktails in Walt Disney World, so you’ll definitely want to make time to visit them when taking a girls’ trip. Cocktails are a great way to take a mid-afternoon rest after a morning in a Disney theme park, before getting dinner. Alternatively, enjoy an alcoholic beverage or two after dinner before retiring for the night.

A few of our favorite spots to enjoy cocktails include:

Photo memories

You can’t visit Walt Disney World without having your photo taken. Photos are a great way to remember the awesome time you’ve had. A girls’ trip in and around the Disney Parks provides the perfect opportunity to visit Disney’s PhotoPass photographers for them to capture special moments during your vacation. Be sure to ask Cast Members for those extra-special magic shots too!

Make your trip extra special by visiting Disney characters with your girls. Hugs with your favorite Disney characters always make for special photo opportunities. Visiting the Disney princesses in Magic Kingdom would be the perfect opportunity to wear princess-inspired outfits.

Following our Disney vacation, we love to create a photo book with favorite photos from our visit. This makes for an ideal birthday or Christmas present too!

Browsing the gift shops

Visiting the gift shops is a must for any Walt Disney World vacation, but during a family visit, you may be limited on time to spend browsing the merchandise. Trips with your girls allow you to spend a little more time shopping, not to forget picking up matching souvenirs. A dated Christmas ornament will remind you of the wonderful time you had every time you see it hanging on your Christmas tree.

Be sure to stop by Sir Mickey’s behind Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom with your girls too. Nobody is too old to make a wish upon pixie dust!

Share quick-service meals

It’s rude not to enjoy all of the awesome food choices that are available around the Walt Disney World Resort. However, sometimes you have to pick and choose what you treat yourself to, to stop yourself from feeling too full to move!

Why not share quick-service meals when on a girls’ trip? Some of the larger Disney snacks could also be shared. This will save you from eating too much, but still allow you to indulge on all the good stuff.

Share the cost of a room

Visiting with your girls may provide you will the ideal opportunity to splurge a little and stay in a Deluxe Disney Resort. Sharing a room keeps the cost down as you can split it between you. Our favorite Disney Resorts to stay in with the girls are:

runDisney together

If you and your girls enjoy staying fit or welcome a challenge, tie in your Disney vacation with a runDisney weekend. Training for the event will provide the perfect excuse to get into shape, and you’ll get to accomplish something together whilst having a magical time!

Visit EPCOT’s Festivals

Maybe running around Walt Disney World doesn’t sound like your thing. Instead, why not plan your girls’ vacation around the time of an EPCOT Festival. The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival celebrates all things floral. Why not plan outfits inspired by flowers, and admire all of the beautiful topiaries this Festival brings to the Disney Park?

If you and the girls enjoy a glass of wine or two, then you’ll definitely want to visit Walt Disney World during EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival. Check the Eat to the Beat Concert Series schedule – you may get the opportunity to see a favorite band whilst you are there too!

Explore the Disney Resorts

Don’t feel that you have to spend all of your time in the Disney Parks, when on a girls trip. It can be fun to explore the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. This also provides a great opportunity to experience Disney dining locations that you may have never tried before.

If you have time, why not take part in some of the activities offered at different Disney hotels too? Enjoy a scavenger hunt at Disney’s Riviera Resort, or hire a Surrey Bike at Disney’s Saratoga Springs. We definitely recommend visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge too; admire its picturesque lobby and enjoy the views over the Savannah on the grounds of the Disney Resort.

We hope that you’re feeling inspired to plan a Disney vacation with your girls very soon. We’re sure that you’ll have the most magical time, whilst creating memories that you’ll remember for a long while.

Don’t be surprised if you return from your Disney vacation wanting to plan another as soon as you can! Maybe the next girls trip could even involve a cruise with Disney Cruise Line.
