Walt Disney World Mistakenly Advertised a Show That’s Been Canceled for Over a Month

Let’s face it, accidents happen! But an accident made by a company worth billions of dollars is sure to turn some heads.

Although fans tend to put the company on a pedestal, Disney isn’t perfect by any means. From social blunders to technical ones to practical ones, even the Walt Disney Company makes mistakes.

There was a recent controversy regarding a high school marching band’s offensive chants as they performed down Main Street, U.S.A., which thankfully resulted in Disney learning from its mistakes.

There was the Disney Cruise Line reservation mistake, which listed the Disney Fantasy as a Very Merrytime Cruise, creating a misleading situation that was quickly rectified.

Most recently, Walt Disney World made a mistake when they advertised an Animal Kingdom show that has been defunct for over a month now.

Disney KiteTails joined Animal Kingdom’s list of entertainment as a part of Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration. The Disney experience featured giant, colorful, and elaborate kites inspired by The Lion King (1994) and The Jungle Book (1967).

Despite the effort put into the three-dimensional kites, Disney KiteTails quickly gained infamy for a myriad of mistakes as well as crashes that were so common, Guests couldn’t tell if they were scripted or not.

Eventually, the show was indefinitely canceled with months to go before The Happiest Celebration on Earth ends.

Although Disney KiteTails has passed on, the blunders seem to be haunting Walt Disney World. While scrolling through Facebook a few days ago, DisneyDining spotted an official advertisement featuring a picture of the now-canceled show.

While this advertisement is still circulating around Facebook, it’s only a matter of time before somebody is misled and books a vacation for the Disney Park without realizing the show’s status.

Although there are plenty of things for fans of The Lion King and The Jungle Book to enjoy at Animal Kingdom, Disney KiteTails is no longer one of them.
