Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration is making magic for Guests down at the Florida Resort and with it, a whole array of new experiences.

From Disney Enchantment and the Beacons of Magic at the Disney Park icons to Space 220 and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Guests have a lot to look forward to on their next Disney vacation.

And joining the brand new nighttime spectacular Harmonious at EPCOT is the brand-new Marvel Studios coaster attraction — Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind!

Now, we have another milestone in the books for the new theme park attraction, with a brand new reveal from a Disney Imagineer.

The exciting new indoor rollercoaster will feature the popular Marvel characters played by Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper in an all-new, spinning coaster that brings the Marvel story to life in a thrilling experience.

This will be the second Guardians of the Galaxy-themed attraction at Disney Parks in the U.S., the first being Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort, which replaced the beloved Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Cosmic Rewind had previously been revealed to be launching in 2022, but a specific opening date has yet to be announced. Back on February 22, Disney had an accidental leak of the debut of Cosmic Rewind at Walt Disney World, with Geoff Morrell, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer at Disney, tweeting that the ride will open Memorial Day weekend.

Now, a Disney Imagineer has revealed more information regarding the store behind the eagerly-awaited EPCOT attraction.

Imagineer Zach Riddley has today, March 23, revealed the name of the merchandise location at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT theme park at Walt Disney World.

Treasures of Xandar will be the home of the gift shop at the Wonders of Xandar pavilion, located at the exit of the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind rollercoaster.

On his Instagram, Riddley revealed that the store will be operated by the Broker, who has apparently been awarded the contract and brought part of his famous store to EPCOT:

Another exciting milestone this morning at the Wonders of Xandar pavilion as we announce and reveal our merchandise location: Treasures of Xandar!

This store is operated by The Broker, a proud Xandarian, who’s been awarded the contract and brought part of his famous store here to EPCOT. Some of the merchandise pays tribute to Xandar and items acquired throughout the galaxy and, of course, some items celebrate The Heroes of Xandar, the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Broker also shared the following with our WDI team recently: “I am so delighted to bring my wares to the Wonders of Xandar pavilion. As a proud Xandarian, it gives me great pleasure to represent my planet to you Terrans and allow you to bring home a small bit of Xandar from my shop: Treasures of Xandar. I only hope that it brings our two cultures that much closer together.”

Seeing these design elements come into place completes years worth of dreaming and creating by our talented team. And the results are out of this world! We look forward to inviting all of you to the opening this summer as part of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT.

Riddley only writes that Guests will get to experience this new merchandise store and ride “this summer”, so we need to still wait to see when the official launch date will be.

Disney recently revealed the height requirement for Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT will be 42 inches, similar to Big Thunder Mountain at 40 inches and Expedition Everest at 44 inches.

Riddley currently leads design execution for all Imagineering efforts at Walt Disney World Resort and has been at the helm of EPCOT’s current major transformation.

Zach joined Walt Disney Imagineering back in 2004 where he worked on projects for Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, and Disney California Adventure Park. He then partnered on the research and relaunch of Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim and contributed to the new Shanghai Disney Resort.

We know we can’t wait to get over to EPCOT and ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind when it opens this year!
