The Rare Disney Snack You Can Find in an Unexpected Place

There are so many snacks and treats at Walt Disney World to suit every Guest and their appetite. Across the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme parks, Guests can pick from churros, a Mickey Premium Bar, donuts, cupcakes, popcorn, or even turkey legs to fuel their day.

No Disney snack is better, though, at refreshing you on a humid Central Florida day than a DOLE Whip.

DOLE Whip has become synonymous with Disney Parks. The delicious soft-serve dairy-free frozen dessert is a staple at Walt Disney World, with merchandise and Minnie ears being inspired by the pineapple treat. Created by the DOLE Food Company back in 1984, Guests will most prominently know the popular original pineapple flavor, but there are also eight additional fruit flavors.

And though many Disney World Guests associate DOLE Whip with Adventureland at Magic Kingdom, did you know that you can find a rare version of this refreshing treat in an unexpected location on property?

No, we’re not talking about the new DOLE Whip flight destination at Disney Springs!

There are multiple places around the Walt Disney World Resort to find this delectable Disney treat, and one dining location, in particular, has a very special Dole Whip offering.

Lots of menu items come and go at Disney, but many Walt Disney World fans may remember the limited edition Hei Hei cone found at Aloha Isle. An Instagram favorite, this unique DOLE Whip creation was first sold at Magic Kingdom in February 2019. Aloha Isle’s Hei Hei treat featured a blue cone, pineapple soft serve, raspberry soft serve, sugar eyes, and a sour candy comb.

At the time, it was promoted as a “limited-time offering,” disappearing off the menu back in May 2019 along with raspberry DOLE Whip. But for fans of Moana (2016) and its goofy sidekick Hei Hei the chicken, all is not lost, for an unexpected destination is here to save the day!

The Hei Hei cone made an unassuming return to Walt Disney World in January when Disney’s water park Typhoon Lagoon reopened to the public.

If a day at Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, or Disney’s Animal Kingdom in the Florida heat doesn’t sound pleasant, Guests can usually head to one of Walt Disney World’s two water parks – Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. An Orlando summer day is a perfect excuse to enjoy the thrills and relaxation of a Disney water park, but, unfortunately, Blizzard Beach is still closed. Typhoon Lagoon, however, reopened back on January 2, 2022, the first time it saw Guests since Walt Disney World closed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Found at the Snack Shack next door to Typhoon Tilly’s quick-service restaurant, the Hei Hei cone’s Instagrammable quirkiness and delicious tastes can be discovered once again!

The ice cream treat comes with the same raspberry and pineapple DOLE Whip, loaded with fruity flavor, sugar pieces, and a sour candy. At $5.79, the Moana-themed dessert is sure to create surprises for many Typhoon Lagoon Guests. The dining location also offers loaded nachos with Walt’s chili for $11.99, as well as a Motunui Island Twist DOLE Whip with lime soft-serve and floral decorations.

The Snack Shack also offers the plant-based DOLE Whip soft-serve in pineapple, lime, mango or raspberry served in a waffle cone.

In a surprising alcoholic beverage, Guests at the water park can also order the Habanero Lime Galley Shack Swirl, which includes DOLE Whip mango and lime, El Jimador Silver Tequila, habanero-lime flavoring, Sprite, and lime-chili Rim for $13.00.

These treats seem like a perfect fit for water park fun in the sun after riding Crush ‘n’ Gusher, Humunga Kowabunga, or Castaway Creek, the Park’s lazy river. Snack Shack is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

So, there you have it. Dole Whip is not exclusive to Aloha Isle in Adventureland anymore – and Hei Hei is able to spread his quirkiness and deliciousness at Walt Disney World once again. But where else can you find DOLE Whip at Disney World’s Parks and Resort Hotels?

Aloha Isle – Magic Kingdom

Aloha Isle in Adventureland is often every Guest’s first choice when wishing to find DOLE Whip, and for good reason. This is the dining location that started it all for DOLE Whip in the Disney Parks, and it’s still serving up refreshing treats daily.

But did you know Wine Bar George also offers adult frozen beverages that feature Dole Whip? Their Frozcato is made with Dole Whip Pineapple, Moscato, and Vodka. It’s also available as a Frozcato Mimosa for those looking to add some Prosecco. The Friezling is made with Dole Whip Lime, Selbach Riesling, and Vodka. Disney Springs Guests can also order these drinks at the restaurant’s walk up window, The Basket. So, there you have it! Your full guide on where to find the iconic DOLE Whip magic at Walt Disney World. DOLE and Disney go back a long way. DOLE Whip was first introduced after DOLE Food Company took over from United Airlines as the sponsor of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland Park.

It’s exciting to see the ice cream favorite Hei Hei cone make its grand return at Typhoon Lagoon water park. The frozen pineapple treat is always high on our list of dining choices when we visit the Polynesian Resort or Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World – and we may often get that coconut rum addition next time.
